gnocchi

here is the big reason for the recent lack of posts... i'm all wrapped up in this book, i'm on chapter 25, trying to stick to 5 chapters a day so its not gone to soon =)
i made these, but i dont really like 'em.

and this picture is nasty, but it was delicious. i picked up some gnocchi at target yesterday, they are little potato noodles that i like quite a lot despite their strange texture, the ones i got were tomato, spinach and potato. and i figured i was long overdue for a post with a picture and a recipe.. so here you go =) i know its a few to many vegetables for most....
gnocchi with vegetables and pesto-serves 1
1 head broccoli=florets
1/2 small onion-in fourths
3 cloves garlic
1/2 zucchini-cubed
1/2 summer squash-cubed
handful gnocchi
fresh thyme
1 T pesto
crumbled parmesan
crumbled feta
garlic pepper
Put about 2 cups of water on to boil. In a medium saucepan soften garlic in a few tablespoons of olive oil, add onions and cook until translucent, add zucchini, thyme and summer squash and cook for 2 minutes. Add gnocchi to water and add broccoli to other vegetables. cook until broccoli brightens in color and gnocchi floats (about 3 minutes) toss together with a little of the gnocchi water and pesto. put in a bowl and add cheeses and pepper to taste, enjoy =)
so the other reason for the lack of post was that blogger was acting rather strange and refusing to let me, but i won =) I'm in a kinda strange mood right now... its all rainy outside and i got done with dinner at about 5:15 so i have like forty minutes before going to jenns... so i don't want to commit to anyting time consuming, but i want to do something... so here i am.
Today we went over to urban scholastic center in wyandotte to do some clean up after we left some things undone at the major renovation we did there about a month ago.. that is a really great organazation, i just love the family that puts it all together, i went to a retreat with his wife and their younger girls, a while back, it was a really good time! It just gets me thinking you know, that is what christians should be doing, not starting 10 million new churches, or teaching christians how to make more people just like them, but to do good things for the people around them with the intention to do something for the people around them, not to multiply. I know the bible says to go and make diciples, but i'm not sure were doing the Make part right... ok well i guess i will leave with that, sleep well =)
